Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is to bring our guests closer to nature, and to live and work in a sustainable way. We are grateful to make use of so many gifts that our beautiful surroundings provide.
Living directly on the crystal-clear Lake Ossiach, with its drinking water quality and intact natural surroundings, is a true gift – one we are grateful for every single day.
Our hot water is heated with wood chips from our own forest. The love for wood was passed down to my father from a young age. Nearly every plank we use once stood tall in our own woodland, growing in our soil. He still handcrafts traditional wooden rakes and twig brooms himself – and they are exceptional tools for our daily work.
In the vegetable and flower gardens, you’ll see my mother’s signature touch. The blooming beds, hanging vines, and potted plants warm the heart. Everything is planted and harvested with great care and love.
I’ve inherited a bit from both of them: my “Root Joe” and the sea eagle are my first wood carvings – welcoming you at the entrance and in the courtyard. I, too, love the flowers and the forest. Breathing in the fresh air, the scent of pine and wild mushrooms – it grounds you.
We are committed to honoring, protecting, and preserving this gift of creation – so that we can continue to offer our guests a holiday surrounded by beautiful nature and all the comfort it brings.
Warm regards,
Gabi Lauritsch & family
